Elena joined the practice in 2011 and has played a central role in the design and delivery of award-winning projects across the UK and Europe. With more than fifteen years of experience, she brings a pragmatic approach, a passion for innovation, and a deep knowledge of contemporary architectural practice.
Elena has directed the development of projects across a range of typologies — cultural, residential, workplace and civic. Her work is characterised by a rigorous approach to material, structure and light, and by a commitment to buildings that improve with age rather than date.
Since 2019 she has led the practice’s Low Carbon Group, driving its commitment to sustainable design. She collaborates with clients who share these values and encourages the integration of new design tools and technologies, while emphasising the continued centrality of the human in architecture.

A selection of projects Elena is currently leading through design and delivery.
A 32-storey workplace tower whose stepped terraces return planting to the skyline and open a new pedestrian route through the block.
A timber-framed community stadium combining material research with construction techniques that lower embodied carbon.
A civic institute rising from the sloping bank, conveying the values at the heart of the institution: solidity, stability and sustainability.
A vibrant new public square beside a busy rail and bus interchange, with upgraded crossings for greater accessibility and safety.
Explore a selection of projects Elena has contributed to since joining the practice.
A 36-storey mixed-use tower whose stepped massing shelters a new civic plaza at street level, giving the neighbourhood an urban garden in place of a service yard.
A 40,000-seat arena designed around a lightweight long-span roof, combining material research with construction techniques that cut embodied carbon.
A sectional extrusion open at both ends, flowing from city to waterfront and framing the industrial legacy of the river behind clear glazed facades.
A small public pavilion on a reclaimed quay: domestic in scale, unique in execution, forming a gateway between the town and the water.
A private house cut into a disused quarry, where the excavated stone returns as the primary facade material and the roof becomes new ground.
A research campus organised around confluent circulation routes that separate and rejoin to create a field of buildings accessible to all.
